Tracy Ray sings an eclectic mix of blues, jazz and soul. She draws inspiration from the legendary sounds of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Chet Baker as well as popular artists such as James Taylor, Carole King and Stevie Wonder. Her live performances capture the soulful depth and spirit of the blues, artfully blending groove with melody.

Tracy sings regularly on the London jazz scene and in addition to live performances she has provided backing vocals for Ian Brown on the Stone Roses. In 2024 she teamed up with music producer Sunship to release UK garage renditions of You’re My Thrill and The Girl from Ipanema both of which achieved top10 status in the UK dance charts.

More recently Tracy has been experimenting with recording her own interpretations of classic jazz and pop songs. Against the rhythmic backdrop of Dominic Grant on guitar and Dave Lagnado on double bass, she layers swooning harmonies around some familiar melodies (and some less so) to create something completely unique, as offered here by her version on the Duke Ellington masterpiece Prelude to a Kiss, and Stevie Wonder’s Send One Your Love.
